Facebook, Impressive Numbers

I read today that Facebook is getting around 1.5 billion daily pageviews. Just last month, Facebook reported around 1 billion daily pageviews. Impressive growth! Now, if Facebook can come up with way to monetize the pageviews….

Unlimited Email Storage on Yahoo Mail?

I read today that Yahoo Mail will bump its email storage from 2GB to unlimited around May of 2007. I remember when free email services only gave you 4MB…LOL.

War Timetable

Timetable for a war!! are you kidding me? Democrates and so called ‘make love, not war’ crowd believes the there should be a timetable for a war. These people should stop kidding themselves. Today, I read that Democrates are pushing for March 31st, 2008 date to cut loose from Iraq. Why March 31st of 2008? Did they just pull that date out of their ass? Dumb things like this happens when you have people like Nancy Policy and John Murtha leading the majority party. What the hell does Nancy know about war? She is a quack from San Fran (She is the one who pushed for minimum salary increase everywhere except in her district because it would hurt a company that contributes to her campaign) Better yet, what do most Americans know about war to think that their should be a timeline. Do the bad guys (terrorist) have a timeline? I don’t think so! Bush should veto everything that comes his way regarding setting a timetable for Iraq. What’s the reason for pushing to pull out of Iraq with a timetable? You tell me…because our soldiers are dying? because Iraqies are dying? what?!? Soldiers and people die in wars. For soldiers, dying in war comes with the job. That’s why war sucks, but there’s no way of getting around it. We are in a war. We need to finish it. If we pull out of Iraq before the job is finished, it will empower the terrorists and Islamic extremists. This is just my opinion…agree or disagree.

Hilary is a Joke

This is just sad. Hilary should just wear a clown suit.

Slacker, iPod Killer?

Slacker is a music player/services that utilizes satellite to deliver music (I think they should just call it satellite radio). I’ve read that Slacker may be the iPod killer. I doubt it. If anything, Slacker will compete with XM/Sirius and possibly other mp3 devices. For many iPod users, iPod is more than a music player. Yes, it’s a photobook, video player, music, backup drive, and so on…Importantly, iPod, in a way, identifies them as cool, young, and stylish - iPod culture?!?

Illegal Immigrants and Prop. 300

So, what is Proposition 300 in Arizona? Basically, proposition 300 would make illegal immigrants pay out-of-state tuition at the state’s public universities and colleges. This is something that all americans should be watching.

I’ve been listening to both sides of arguments on this issue. Main argument of the people against the prop 300 is that it’s not fair to the illegal immigrants, including those whose parents brought them into the country at a young age. Why? because they had no choice on the matter and they are following the american dream. The decision was made by their parents to enter U.S. illegally. The supporters are saying Arizona should not be subsidizing students who are here illegally in college level and adult education programs at the expense of the taxpayers of Arizona.

So..where do I stand? I stand with passing of prop. 300. Am I a bad person for supporting prop. 300? Well, I don’t think so. Let me ask you this…why should non-citizens of U.S. pay in-state tuition? International students coming to U.S.(legally) for higher education pays premium. They also have to stand in long lines for admission and student visa. Citizens of U.S., but out-of-state students pay premium to attend colleges/universities in Arizona. Same goes for out-of-state students attending any other colleges/universities in U.S. That is the rule. What’s the story in other countries? It’s no different. So, what makes illegals feels that they should be treated differently. If you are illegal, you are not a citizen of this country. Therefore, you should pay premium to attend U.S. colleges/universities. What is soooo wrong with that?!? I say nothing.

I’ve also heard some call this act racism. STOP right there. I say..that is total B.S. Stop it with the race card. Don’t try to appeal to Americans by calling it that. It’s a simple matter of citizenship vs. non-citizenship. Legal vs. illegal. Following the law vs. Breaking the law.

Following the American dream is good, but please sign the guestbook when you enter.

Ads in Video Games

Google has acquired Adscape Media for $23million.  Adscape Media’s patented technology, AdverPlay™, allows advertisers and publishers, measurable in-game advertising opportunities. Simply put, Adscape products are integrated with Video Games….Then, real-time or scheduled ads can be delivered to user through Adscape AdverPlay and Real World/Virtual World Gateway (enables two-way text, audio and video communication via SMS Text or eMail).

Google, with their bankroll, can now make deals with Gaming companies to serve their ads on video games. I’m sure a revenue split/share model will be used. Another ad revenue channel..good move, Google!

Microsoft and Tellme

I read on Cnet that Microsoft may be acquiring Tellme by end of the week. What a cool deal. I really like this move by Microsoft….Tellme is already profitable and they are one of the leading voice recognition service company. Mass consumer adoption/use of voice recognition is still several years off, but it’s coming — home management, home entertainment systems, phones, computers, everyday life, it’s coming. Tellme acquisition really helps to move the needle on Microsoft’s voice recognition product/service strategy. Now..It’s your move Google.

Another Video/Media Startup

Divvio is another web startup that lets users create channels, grouping interesting videos. More and more sites are popping up leveraging the existing video stream sites and content. So far, most of these sites allow users to create a channel with videos from various sites on the web. I’ll throw my hat into the mix….I’m working on something as well around video.
